Description
A simple and delicious 3-ingredient pasta recipe combining spaghetti, marinara sauce, and creamy Boursin cheese, ready in just 20 minutes for an easy weeknight meal.
Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 1 (16-ounce) package spaghetti
Sauce
- 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
- 1 (5.2-ounce) package Boursin Cheese (Garlic and Fine Herbs or Basil and Chive flavor)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Prepare the spaghetti according to the package instructions in salted boiling water, but do not drain the water.
- Heat the marinara sauce: While the pasta cooks, pour the marinara sauce into a large skillet over medium heat until warmed through.
- Add the Boursin cheese: Add the Boursin cheese to the skillet and use a spoon to break it up into the sauce.
- Simmer the sauce: Reduce the heat to a low simmer and stir continuously until the Boursin cheese has completely melted and combined with the sauce.
- Combine pasta and sauce: When the pasta is al dente, use a pasta fork or tongs to transfer it directly from the pot to the skillet, letting excess water drain before adding it.
- Toss and season: Toss the pasta gently in the sauce to coat thoroughly. Taste and add additional salt if needed.
- Serve: Serve the pasta warm as either a hearty side dish or a satisfying entree.
Notes
- The pasta water should be salted to enhance the flavor of the noodles.
- Do not drain all the pasta water – some residual moisture helps in combining with the sauce.
- Choose your preferred Boursin cheese flavor for a subtly different taste profile.
- For added protein, grilled chicken or sautéed shrimp can be mixed in before serving.
- Optionally garnish with fresh basil or grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
