Description

These Baked BBQ Meatballs are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main dish featuring juicy meatballs made from ground beef, seasoned with breadcrumbs and egg, then baked to perfection and coated in tangy BBQ sauce. Perfect for family dinners or parties, they offer a flavorful twist on classic meatballs with minimal prep and cook time.

Ingredients

Scale

Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg

BBQ Sauce

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix and shape meatballs. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, and egg thoroughly until well mixed. Then, shape the mixture into evenly sized meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, ensuring they hold together well.
  2. Bake and brush with sauce. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. Bake for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven and brush each meatball generously with the BBQ sauce. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to set and caramelize slightly.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content.
  • For extra flavor, add chopped onions, garlic, or herbs to the meatball mixture.
  • These meatballs can be served as appetizers with toothpicks or alongside rice or mashed potatoes for a hearty meal.
  • Leftover meatballs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Feel free to substitute BBQ sauce with your favorite glaze or sauce for variation.
