Ingredients
Scale
Buns
- 9 mini pretzel slider buns (sliced into top buns and bottom buns)
Meats
- 4–5 strips bacon
- 16 oz ground pork sausage
Egg Mixture
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- Pinch of salt
- Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Cheese
- 4 slices Colby Jack cheese
Butter & Syrup
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter (divided)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Optional Garnish
- Chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish or baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for assembling the sliders.
- Cook Bacon: Heat a large skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Cook the bacon strips until crisp. Once done, transfer the bacon to a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess fat.
- Cook Sausage: Carefully drain off the excess bacon grease from the skillet, leaving about 1 tablespoon to add flavor. Add the ground pork sausage, cooking until browned and fully cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks. Remove the skillet from heat.
- Scramble Eggs: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper. Heat a separate skillet over medium heat and melt part of the butter in it. Pour in the egg mixture and softly scramble until just set but still moist. Remove from heat.
- Assemble Sliders: In the prepared baking dish, place the bottom halves of the mini pretzel buns in a single layer. Evenly layer cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, Colby Jack cheese slices, and crispy bacon over the buns. Top each slider with the corresponding top bun halves.
- Prepare Butter Glaze: Melt the remaining butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in the maple syrup to create a glaze, then generously brush this mixture over the tops of the slider buns for a sweet and buttery finish.
- Bake: Place the assembled sliders in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 10–15 minutes. This step melts the cheese and warms the buns through.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven. Optionally, garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a touch of color and freshness. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra savory flavor, reserve some of the cooked bacon to crumble on top after baking.
- You can substitute the ground pork sausage with turkey sausage or plant-based sausage for a lighter or vegetarian option.
- Make sure not to overcook the scrambled eggs; they should be soft and creamy to complement the other ingredients.
- Use a cast iron skillet for cooking sausage and bacon to enhance flavor with even heat distribution.
- Brush the maple butter glaze generously for a beautiful shiny finish and a hint of sweetness.
