Ingredients
Scale
Watermelon
- 1 small seedless watermelon
Cheese and Herbs
- 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- Fresh basil, shredded, to taste
Condiments and Seasonings
- Thick balsamic vinegar, to drizzle
- Good quality tasting olive oil, for brushing and drizzling
- Salt, a tiny pinch for sprinkling
Instructions
- Prepare Watermelon: Slice the watermelon into your desired shapes, such as sticks or wedges. You can leave the green rind on to make them easier to hold, or remove it if you prefer.
- Heat Grill: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly brush olive oil onto the grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Grill Watermelon: Place the watermelon slices onto the grill and cook for a few minutes on each side until visible grill marks appear and the fruit is slightly softened but still firm.
- Assemble and Serve: Remove the watermelon from the grill and arrange it on a serving platter. Sprinkle each piece with a tiny pinch of salt, then drizzle generously with thick balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Scatter crumbled feta cheese and shredded fresh basil over the top. Serve warm and enjoy!
