Scale
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3 ounces espresso (2 shots) or 1/2 cup strongly brewed coffee
- 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
- Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- Make espresso or coffee: Prepare 3 ounces of espresso (about 2 shots) or brew 1/2 cup of strong coffee using your preferred method.
- Heat the milk with chocolate syrup: Pour the milk into a mason jar along with the chocolate syrup, filling the jar only halfway to allow space for frothing. Microwave the mixture without the lid for 30 to 45 seconds until it is hot but not boiling.
- Froth the milk: Tightly screw on the jar lid and shake vigorously for 30 to 45 seconds until the milk is foamy. Be cautious of any built-up pressure when opening the jar.
- Assemble the mocha latte: Pour the espresso or coffee into a mug. Pour the warm milk into the mug, holding back the foam with a spoon, then gently spoon the foam on top. Optionally, top your mocha latte with whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate syrup, cocoa powder, or chocolate shavings for an extra special touch.
Notes
- Use whole milk for the creamiest texture, but you can substitute with any milk of your choice.
- If you don’t have espresso, strong brewed coffee works as a convenient alternative.
- Be careful when shaking the hot milk to avoid pressure mishaps; open the jar slowly after shaking.
- Adjust chocolate syrup quantity to taste for a sweeter or less sweet mocha latte.
- Whipped cream and additional garnishes are optional but recommended for a café-style presentation.
