Description

A refreshing and creamy Jello Creamsicle Pie combining tangy orange jello with smooth vanilla pudding and whipped topping in a graham cracker crust, perfect for a light, no-bake dessert that sets beautifully in the fridge.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 pre-made graham cracker crust

Jello Layer

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 (3 oz) package orange jello

Pudding Layer

  • 2 cups cold whole milk
  • 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups Cool Whip, thawed

Optional

  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If you are using a homemade graham cracker crust, bake it for 8-10 minutes until it is lightly golden brown, then set it aside to cool completely. If using a pre-made crust, you can skip the baking step.
  2. Dissolve Jello: In a mixing bowl, pour the orange jello powder into 1 cup of boiling water. Stir thoroughly until the jello is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Allow the jello to cool slightly at room temperature to avoid melting the pudding layer later on.
  3. Make Pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and 2 cups of cold whole milk for 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture thickens and holds shape.
  4. Fold in Whipped Topping: Gently fold half of the thawed Cool Whip into the thickened pudding mixture, creating a smooth and creamy texture without deflating the Cool Whip.
  5. Assemble Layers: Pour half of the cooled orange jello evenly into the cooled graham cracker crust. Next, spoon or spread the pudding and Cool Whip mixture evenly over the jello layer. Finally, top with the remaining half of the orange jello layer to create a colorful layered effect.
  6. Chill to Set: Refrigerate the pie for at least four hours or preferably overnight to allow the layers to firm up and set properly before serving. This ensures a perfect slice and delightful texture.

Notes

  • Make sure the orange jello is cooled enough before layering over pudding to prevent melting.
  • Using a pre-made graham cracker crust saves time, but homemade crust adds a fresh touch.
  • Optional food coloring can be used to enhance the vibrancy of the layers.
  • For best results, serve chilled and slice with a sharp knife cooled in hot water for cleaner cuts.
  • This pie can be made a day ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator.
