Instructions
- Prepare the Butter and Sugar Mixture: Beat the unsalted butter and powdered sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy, creating a smooth base for the dough.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Incorporate the eggs and milk into the butter mixture and mix well until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
- Mix in Dry Ingredients: Add the all-purpose flour, salt, vanilla extract, and almond extract into the wet mixture. Mix just until a dough forms, ensuring it is well combined but not overworked.
- Divide and Color the Dough: Divide the dough into portions. Tint one half with purple gel food coloring. Then divide the remaining dough into black (using black gel food coloring) and white portions.
- Roll the Black Dough: Roll the black colored dough into a 6×12-inch rectangle on a flat surface.
- Layer White Dough: Roll the white dough to the same 6×12-inch size and place it on top of the black rectangle. Lightly roll over the layers to make them adhere together firmly.
- Prepare Purple Dough: Roll the purple dough to a 6×12-inch size and sprinkle purple sprinkles evenly over the surface.
- Form the Spiral Log: Roll the purple dough with sprinkles into a log shape, preparing it for slicing and baking.
