Instructions

  1. Prepare the Butter and Sugar Mixture: Beat the unsalted butter and powdered sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy, creating a smooth base for the dough.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Incorporate the eggs and milk into the butter mixture and mix well until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
  3. Mix in Dry Ingredients: Add the all-purpose flour, salt, vanilla extract, and almond extract into the wet mixture. Mix just until a dough forms, ensuring it is well combined but not overworked.
  4. Divide and Color the Dough: Divide the dough into portions. Tint one half with purple gel food coloring. Then divide the remaining dough into black (using black gel food coloring) and white portions.
  5. Roll the Black Dough: Roll the black colored dough into a 6×12-inch rectangle on a flat surface.
