Ingredients
Scale
Slider Rolls
- 12 Slider rolls
Steak and Seasoning
- 1 pound Thinly sliced steak
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
Vegetables
- 1 Green pepper, diced
- 1 Onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon Onion, finely diced (for butter mixture)
Cheese and Condiments
- 6 slices Provolone cheese
- 2 tablespoon Mayonnaise
Others
- 3 tablespoon Butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Prepare Slider Rolls: Separate the tops and bottoms of the slider rolls. Place the bottom halves in an 11″ x 7″ baking dish or on a baking sheet. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on both the tops and bottoms of the rolls.
- Cook Steak: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the thinly sliced steak, seasoning with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Once cooked through, drain any excess liquid and set the meat aside.
- Sauté Vegetables: In the same or another skillet, sauté the diced green pepper and onion until tender. Drain any excess liquid and set aside.
- Assemble Sliders: Evenly spread the cooked steak over the bottom halves of the rolls in the baking dish. Top the steak with the sautéed peppers and onions.
- Add Cheese Layer: Place a layer of provolone cheese slices evenly over the peppers and onions.
- Top the Sliders: Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese.
- Prepare Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with the finely diced raw onion. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the slider rolls.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld and cheese to begin melting.
- Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10 minutes or until the cheese has fully melted and the tops of the rolls are toasted.
- Serve: Remove from the oven, cut the sliders apart, and serve warm for the best experience.
Notes
- Be sure to use thinly sliced steak for quick and even cooking suitable for sliders.
- Sauté vegetables until just tender to maintain some texture and balanced flavor.
- Applying mayonnaise on the rolls adds moisture and flavor inside the sliders.
- Brushing the tops with butter and onion mixture before baking imparts a rich, savory crust.
- Covering with foil initially helps the cheese melt without drying out the rolls.
- Use provolone cheese as it melts well and complements the flavor profile of Philly cheesesteak.
